ALLAHBATU IS FOUNDED BY ABDOULYE "PAPA" CAMARA FORMER DIRECTOR OF THE NATIONAL BALLET DU SENEGAL AND MUTU DANCE THEATER AND SEVERAL COMPANIES AROUND THE WORLD. PAPA HAS PUT TOGETHER A WONDERFUL ENSEMBLE OF YOUNG AFRICAN AMERICAN CHILDREN AND ADULTS WHO NOT ONLY
DO THEY SING AND DANCE THE TRADITIONS OF SENEGAL AND GUINEA. THEY HAVE A THUNDEROUS DRUM ENSEMBLE OF BRUTHAS WHO THROW DOWN ON KUTIRO AND DJEMBE. YOU GOTTA CHECK THEM OUT!
CLASSES ARE FREE BUT THEY DO ASK FOR A SMALL DONATION
COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE CULTURE

Weekly Doumbek Drumming Classes

Monday, January 24th from 6 to 7pm,

all levels combined at least for the first class

place: New Orleans, LA (email me for details)

Duration: 1h

Cost: 10$ per hour (cash only please)

What do you need: a doumbek drum, your enthusiasm, and... something to sit on (like a folding chair or a pillow - sorry for the inconvenience, the dancing studio doesn't have chairs !), a paper and a pen might also be helpful to take notes.
